Wow, a year and 2 months… So much has happened in the last year, Charlotte’s parents have been to visit and Gran and Pop have been over a couple of times. Damian’s Auntie Heather and Uncle Lester have moved to Perth, and his cousin Nanette got married and had a baby (James)! Charlotte and Thomas have visited the UK and they met Emma for the first time (something Damian is desperate to do) and Thomas met all the family too. Big Nan even taught Thomas that her handbag contained Chocolate Buttons everytime she saw him!
Thomas is now walking and has his first pair of shoes! Since coming home from the UK, Thomas now has only one sleep a day and generally goes off to bed without crying, so nice to feel like we aren’t torturing him all the time! Thomas has become obsessed with the TV show “In The Night Garden” and it is part of his bedtime routine at the moment…

Thomas celebrated his first birthday on 30th June! We had a small party for him at Nancy and Poppy’s house on Saturday 3rd July… We all had a lovely day, and Charlotte and Damian would like to thank everyone for all their love and support this last year, we are grateful to everyone. Thomas got spoilt for his birthday and needless to say our house looks more and more like a toy shop! Photos on the links below:

Thomas and Charlotte went to the UK in May for 6 weeks so Thomas could see Nanny and Grandad and meet the rest of the family… Over to Charlotte for this blog…
We arrived late at Heathrow due to a terrible Thunder storm in Perth stopping us leaving until 2 hours after our departure time and missing our Dubai connection. When we finally got through Customs/Immigration, Mum, Dad and Daren were waiting for us at the gate ready to take us back to Southampton. Thomas settled pretty quickly, it took him about 4 nights to get used to the time zone change and I was very impressed by that, I honestly thought it would take longer! We went to Lily’s Nursery Fete on the Saturday where sadly Mum managed to break her little toe by falling over – she spent the rest of our holiday resting up, so Thomas and I got to spend more time than expected with her which was great, but not good that she was sick! Daren, Loesje, Lily and Emma came to see us a couple of times over the 6 weeks and it was lovely spending time with everyone (shame Damian was missing)…
On our last weekend there Mum booked all of us onto a Thomas the Tank Engine ride from Paignton across the Bay, we all had a really enjoyable day, and I honestly think it was one of the highlights of the trip, seeing the children have so much fun together.
Since we’ve been home Thomas and I are missing everyone, but are looking forward to seeing them all again when we return for our Cruise and Michelle’s Wedding in Jan/Feb…

Well, here we are again, another few months have past, where does the time go?! We have been busy getting organised for the trip to the UK that Charlotte and Thomas are embarking on… They leave May 13th and return 2 days before Thomas’ Birthday… An exciting time for all… 6 weeks of peace and quiet for Damian, and 2 x 24hour flights alone with Thomas for Charlotte – whose shoes would you rather be in?!

We decided before Christmas to finally re-do the kitchen. The job took about 3 weeks and we had to use the laundry and cook on just the BBQ for those weeks – it really is lovely to have an organised kitchen that suits us! We had the benchtops made to a higher height too so we didn’t have to ’stoop’ to prepare and cook.

Where has the time gone, I can’t believe it’s been 4 months since I last updated the website…. We have had a busy few months including a trip to New Zealand and Christmas! In the new year we had a kitchen installed, and Debbie came out to visit for 3 weeks in February.

Life in the Bramanis house has been hectic – Thomas was a little naughty with sleeping through the day and would only sleep in Charlotte’s arms – after 13 weeks of this it got a bit annoying and we call in the professionals to help! About 3 weeks ago we went to the experts in baby behaviour, a place called Ngala. A lovely nurse called Janet helped us with teaching Thomas to sleep in his cot and not only that, but fall asleep without screaming the house down… He has been slowly improving over the past 3 weeks and generally only grizzles to fall asleep now. We owe a debt of gratitude to the staff at Ngala.
Thomas also started solids about a month ago and he loves his muesli for breakfast and pumpkin or sweet potato for dinner. This past week Thomas has started teething so our nights are now disturbed again and we feel so sorry for him as there is nothing we can do to help.

A busy couple of weeks with Thomas having a growth spurt and is now in 3-6 month clothing! We had to have an emergency shopping spree as all the gifts we had been given for Thomas he had outgrown…

Thomas is now almost 8 weeks old – time flies… We had been really lucky and have a very contented little boy, since he was born we have been generally getting at least 4 or 5 hours between feeds overnight and he discovered quickly the difference between day sleeping and night sleeping.
Mum and Dad are both doing well and are getting used to sleep deprivation!
Charlotte’s parents came over from the UK for a total of 7 weeks that they split between them, which was a great help and made the transition from couple to family much, much easier. They have both gone now and we are getting used to going back to ‘normal’ as a family. We thank them for their help and dedication.
Here are some more photos from the beginning of July to now.
